Hornets preseason begins Oct. 5 in New Orleans

The Hornets will play seven preseason games prior to their Oct. 29 season opener at Golden State, highlighted by the team’s two games in Europe as part of NBA Europe Live presented by EA Sports.
“It is an honor for us to be playing in NBA Europe Live and we couldn’t be more thrilled to showcase our great talent on a world stage,” Hornets owner George Shinn said. “Our preseason schedule also has us giving our home fans in New Orleans two games to see our 2008-09 team before the regular season. The Mobile game gives us the unique opportunity to play in a city close by Louisiana with built-in fan interest for the Hornets.”

USA beats Angola 97-76, now 2-0 in Olympics

Another productive outing for Chris Paul this morning. The Hornets’ All-Star point guard finished with six points, four rebounds, three assists and a steal over 21 minutes, as USA Basketball downed Angola by a 97-76 margin. Paul was 3-for-4 from the field, missing his lone three-point attempt.
