The team announced this afternoon that backup point guard Jason Hart will not return for a second 10-day contract. The nine-year NBA veteran was initially signed on Feb. 5, two days after Marcus Thornton was injured in the Oklahoma City loss. Thorntons injury left the Hornets with few short-term options behind Darren Collison at point guard. Chris Paul was injured Jan. 29.
Thornton returned to action last night after missing three consecutive games and played nine minutes. A 6-foot-3, defensive-minded player, Hart appeared in four games for New Orleans, playing a total of 17 minutes.
