Bobby Brown traded to Clippers for future draft pick

In a move that will yield considerable financial benefits for the Hornets, they dealt backup guard Bobby Brown to the Los Angeles Clippers this morning, in exchange for a conditional second-round draft choice in 2014. New Orleans is now under the luxury tax line, so instead of doling out a dollar-for-dollar tax based on exceeding that salary total, the Hornets are now in position to be among the teams who will receive payments from those over it.

This is pure speculation, but it’s possible Brown might get a better opportunity to play in Los Angeles. Backup Clippers point guard Sebastian Telfair was recently sidelined with a groin injury and may be out until March, according to NBA.com’s fantasy basketball injury reports. The Clippers recently signed point guard JamesOn Curry out of the D-League. Curry made his Clippers debut last night in Boston.
