Anthony Davis goes through contact drills Tuesday, upgraded to questionable

New Orleans (32-28) may be a bit closer to getting their All-Star power forward back in uniform. Anthony Davis (right shoulder), who has been sidelined for the past six games, went through contact drills in the Pelicans’ Metairie practice facility today. The 21-year-old has been upgraded to questionable for Wednesday’s home game vs. Detroit.

Davis was also seen working out on the court at American Airlines Center in Dallas, prior to Monday’s division matchup against the Mavericks. The third-year NBA veteran ranks tied for fourth in the league in scoring (23.9 ppg), 10th in rebounding (10.3 rpg) and is No. 1 in blocks (2.67) for a second straight season.

The Pelicans are one game behind Oklahoma City (33-27) for eighth place in the West, as well as 1.5 games ahead of 10th-place Phoenix.
