New Orleans Pelicans All-Star forward Anthony Davis has compiled several eye-popping statistical perormances in his brief two-year NBA career, but those occurred over the course of 48-minute games. What Davis accomplished Tuesday in the Canary Islands of Spain merits a special, separate category.

In only 18-plus minutes on the floor in Team USA’s final tune-up prior to the FIBA World Cup, the 21-year-old piled up 18 points, 11 rebounds, four blocks and four steals. Davis’ all-around dominance helped spearhead the United States to a runaway 101-71 exhibition victory against Slovenia. The 6-foot-10, 242-pounder did not play at all in the fourth quarter, after the American team had built an insurmountable advantage on the scoreboard.

USA Basketball finished a perfect 4-0 in its exhibition tour, which took the team from Chicago to New York City to Europe over the past week-plus. Team USA will begin competition in the 2014 FIBA World Cup on Saturday vs. Finland. That game will tip off at 2:30 p.m. Central time and will be televised by ESPN. On Sunday, it will be a matchup of Pelicans big men when Davis and the American squad faces Omer Asik and Turkey (ESPN, 2:30).
