September 25, 2008

The New Orleans Hornets announced today that the Hornets flagship station in New Orleans will change radio dials to 100,000 watt KMEZ 106.7 FM (formerly 102.9 FM) and the Baton Rouge flagship station will now be 100,000 watt WCDV 103.3 FM.

The team has also signed agreements with 18 other radio stations across the states of Louisiana and Mississippi to broadcast Hornets games for the 2008-09 season.

Fans in New Orleans can catch all home and away pre-season, regular season and post-season games on the flagship station KMEZ 106.7 FM and in Baton Rouge on WCDV 103.3 FM.

For the first time ever, Hornets home games will also be broadcast in Spanish on WFNO 830 AM in New Orleans and WPYR 1380 AM in Baton Rouge.

The broadcast team is anchored by Sean Kelley, who will begin his fourth season as the teams play-by-play voice. Veteran color analyst Gerry Vaillancourt starts his 19th season with the Hornets and will sit next to Kelley. Joe Block returns for his second season as studio host and will host all pre-game and post-game radio shows. The Hornets OT post-game show will broadcast live from Ernst Caf directly following Hornets home games.

Hornets Sportsline with Gerry V will start on Thursday, Oct. 2 and will air every Thursday from 7-8 p.m. throughout the season on KMEZ 106.7 FM and WCDV 103.3 FM and on most affiliate stations.
