DAY FIVE

Williams reacts to West, Gray departures - On several occasions over the past 18 months, Hornets general manager Dell Demps and head coach Monty Williams have stated their desire for David West to retire with the team, allowing the franchise to add a third retired number to the New Orleans Arena rafters. On Sunday, it became official that the 6-foot-9 power forward would not be ending his NBA career in the Crescent City, when West signed a free-agent contract with the Indiana Pacers. | READ MORE

Belinelli Status for 2011-12 Remains TBD - If there werent already ample uncertainty swirling around the New Orleans Hornets roster just days before their Friday preseason opener, the teams starting shooting guard for much of 2010-11 remains temporarily in limbo. Marco Belinelli is a restricted free agent, with the words free agent being the operative words. As such, he is not allowed to report to a training camp until he becomes official property of an NBA team which is why Belinelli has not appeared in Westwego. | READ MORE

DAY TWO

Although many of them are not familiar names to casual basketball fans, five of the nine players invited to New Orleans Hornets training camp are at least familiar to each other. When USA Basketball put together a team to participate in this Octobers Pan American Games, they selected a squad consisting of a dozen D-League players. As it turns out, less than two months later, nearly half of that USA Basketball team - which earned a bronze medal - is now participating in the Hornets training camp. | READ MORE
