Hornets Post Game Quotes

Head Coach Monty Williams

On tonights game:
"It was tough at times to watch, especially seeing the ball go in and out and turning the ball over. Those kinds of things happen. Coming off a back-to-back and being able to get the kind of effort tonight that I got from nine guys is good. They competed, even though it didnt look pretty. We still held an NBA team to 67 points, well below the NBA average. That is something you can hang your hat on. We are trying to explain to our young guys that this is the easy part. Just imagine when you have two more months to play for something bigger. Thats why you train hard in the summer time so this is a bit easier."

On the teams shooting:
"One time Jason (Smith) turned down a shot, and I told him that I never told him not to shot the ball. I told him you have to shoot the ball with confidence. Guys have to play with confidence. We dont want guys thinking about missing shots and looking over their shoulders wondering if someone is going to come in and take their spot."

Hornets Forward Carl Landry

On playing through injury:
"I knew that we were limited with bodies and I wanted to play against the Bobcats tonight and keep the winning streak going. I was hurt and I was questioning myself if I was going to play or not tonight. I was probably about 40 or 50 percent, but I played for my teammates tonight and my teammates played for me and we came off with the win."

On the third quarter:
"Im not the type of guy to make excuses, but both teams played last night and there could have possibly been a bit of a fatigue factor during the third quarter. At the end of the day we found a way. We knew coming into this game it was going to be a dog fight, especially when youre playing a team on the road, no matter what team it is, every team in the NBA is good. We scrapped, we were active and got it done tonight."

Hornets Guard Greivis Vasquez

On tonights game:
"It was ugly and low scoring, but we got a win and thats all that I care about. The NBA is so tough that all you care about is wins and losses. We have good momentum and we have to keep playing the way were playing, with the same intensity and the same way defensively and keep winning. We have to finish the season strong and build towards the future, which I think looks bright for us."

Bobcats Post Game Quotes

Assistant Coach Stephen Silas

On tonights game:
"We were getting stops and that was the positive. I kept harping on the fact that we kept getting stop after stop after stop, but the ball just wasnt going in the hoop for us tonight."

On Gerald Henderson:
"I went through the whole playbook tonight. I was trying to look for a little bit of everything, but the only thing that seemed to work was handing the ball to Gerald Henderson to try to get in the paint and he did a great job of that."

Bobcats Guard Gerald Henderson

On tonights game:
"The whole year has been frustrating, but this game was more frustrating just because we really got ourselves up for this one. We played really good on defense and it was a close game the whole game. It was a struggle to score, we shot 30 percent (from the field) and missed some free throws down the stretch. We just couldnt make the plays at the end."

On his team-leading 27 points:
"I was able to get in there a couple of times off of a ball screen and try to make something up. We were struggling scoring, so once we did found something that worked, we kept going to it."

On the teams play tonight:
"The hardest thing is that we played so hard. When you really lay it out on the line like that, its tough to come in here with a loss, knowing that shooting was really the thing that defeated us. We kept them down to 34 percent (from the field). Weve just got to play it out and move on to the next game."

Bobcats Guard Kemba Walker

On tonights game:
"We just couldnt score. Gerald (Henderson) tried his best to get us a win, but all-around they really collapsed on him. We didnt do a good job of helping him out scoring. That was basically it."

On the teams goals over the last six games:
"Try to win. Thats it. Its no different (than any other game). Just go in and try to win, keep playing hard and try to finish out strong."

On his personal goals for the offseason:
"I need to work on everything - my passing, my shooting, different kinds of shots like floaters, layups, things of that nature. Its going to be a big summer for me."
