Hornets Post Game Quotes

Head Coach Monty Williams
On the game:
We gave up a three when thats the only thing the Nets can do. Everybody is looking for you to make something extraordinary happen, but those plays are high risk, you never know if things are going to work out. For us to have to rely on plays like that means that we arent playing good basketball. When we lose games it comes down to the five guys on the court and the bench. Bottom line is we need to get more production from a lot of people and right now we are not. Were not getting a lot out of our bench.

Hornets Guard Chris Paul
On team execution:
The game just came down to execution. We drew up some great plays, they were up two and I shot it. I probably should have passed the ball to David (West). I made some bad decisions down the stretch and we had a chance to win but we lost it.

On the game:
We put ourselves in a position to win. We can say we should have or could have done this, but its my job as a point guard. We should have won that game, no way should we have lost.

On other players stepping up:
Marco and Willie were huge for us and if the guys play great like that for us, we deserve to get a win. Like I said, as a point guard and a leader, there is no way I should have let us lose that game."

Nets Post Game Quotes

Head Coach Avery Johnson
On the game:
We were in the situation where we wanted to switch our small guys and Jordan (Farmar) got caught out of position, but guess who comes and saves the day Quinton Ross. He comes over and really contests Pauls shot. Fortunately for us the shot didnt go in, but we had so many contributions tonight. What can you say about Sashas game? He was a stud tonight. Brook had us going there in the fourth quarter a little bit and made some plays for us. Jordan was back tonight with 11 big assists, Humphries with another double-double, just a lot of really solid contributions.

On the bench performance:
What did we score tonight off the bench, 51 points? Thats what I was saying about how important Jordan is to our bench and just the energy that he gives those guys. He and Sasha, theyre one of the best one-two combinations at the guard position we think coming off of the bench in the league when were healthy."

On the teams performance:
"I liked our guys effort they fought hard. Nobody really got rattled tonight, which is good. Nobody lost their composure. Tonight we were men the whole 48 minutes of the game and overtime. Everybody was really confident and the physicality was good.

Nets Center Brook Lopez
On the game:
We had to grind it out. You got to give it to our guys who never gave up. We got down five or six there late in the game with a minute to go or something. Jordan (Farmar) hit a big three and we executed down the stretch and got the stops we needed and pulled it out.

On Chris Pauls final shot:
You just watch the ball go through the air. We did all we could and it rimmed out. It was a great look for him, it just went out.

On the benchs play:
It was huge. They continued our energy and picked us up when we needed it. You look at the guys who played well for us tonight Jordan (Farmar), Sash (Sasha Vujacic), Hump (Kris Humphries), all bench guys who gave us great minutes.

On Sasha Vujacics great game:
It just gets that way with him. You know when its going up, its going in. Youre surprised when it goes out honestly.
