 Honeybees Spotlight: Wilneisha By: Hornets.com | August 10, 2011 Year as a Honeybee: Second. Previous dance experience: I've been dancing since age 4! The very first dance I learned was Michael Jacksons thriller video. I was captain on my high schools dance team (Eleanor McMain Dancin Divas). I was a member of the Hornets Stingers for two years. I danced for Southeastern Louisiana Universitys hip-hop dance team (Flip Side) for two years. Ive also danced and choreographed for some dance groups around New Orleans. What I love about being a Honeybee: Dancing of course! I really love the fans! Im always excited to entertain the fans at the games. Theyre so passionate, which makes it easier for me to fulfill my duties as a Honeybee and easier to interact with them. Being a Honeybee is so much fun, but it also requires hard work and dedication and I love that! Most importantly, I love being able to represent the best dance team and organization in the NBA! What I love about dancing: I love to express myself through dancing. When I dance I feel free, as if nothing or no one matters and thats a wonderful feeling to experience! It doesnt matter if Im happy, sad, angry, hungry, tired, etc. Dancing gives me the opportunity to forget all of my problems. I also love the fact that dancing helps keep me in shape, which is great. Dancing is not a hobby for me; its a passion of mine and a way to express my feelings through body movement. My motto in life is LIVE, LOVE and DANCE! I live by that every day! What I love about New Orleans: I was born and raised here! The culture here is unlike any other! The hospitality is wonderful in New Orleans. I love the food, the music, the events, EVERYTHING. I love riding the streetcar downtown. I love beignets and seafood. When its in season I try to eat crawfish at least twice a week, but if possible I'll eat it every day. New Orleans is a wonderful city, with wonderful people and I love it! What I love to do when Im not performing with the Honeybees: Besides dancing, I love studying. Im a nursing major, so studying is a big priority in my life. I love learning new things and studying helps me master what Ive learned. Shopping is a hobby of mine too. I love shoes and earrings its an obsession. I also love spending time with my friends and family, especially my adorable little sister. When Im not doing any of that, I love to sleep. |
