Postgame report: From the Nets locker room

Nets Head Coach Jason Kidd
On what he thinks happened in overtime
“They (New Orleans) got good luck. They made it and we didn’t, so that’s something that we can learn from. Again, there’s a lot of positive stuff from this game on a back-to-back for us.”

On if exhaustion was a factor in playing consecutive overtimes
“I’m sure it’s there, but that’s no excuse. We had an opportunity to win a game, it went into overtime, and we just couldn’t get it back.”

Nets Guard Joe Johnson
On the tough late-game loss
“For whatever reason, we gave the lead up a couple times. It was very disappointing, especially coming off a pretty good game last night and tonight we came up short. We just have to put it behind us and move forward.”

Nets Guard Shaun Livingston
On the tough late-game loss
“It’s disappointing, we’re all disappointed. This is a game we just wanted to build on, build on the momentum coming from Dallas. We didn’t make enough plays, we didn’t get enough stops. That’s what it came down to.”

On improving their play down the stretch
“I think this is an important game, every game counts coming down the stretch. I think we all understand that, but we just let it slip away. We didn’t get the stops where we needed to and they had a lot of momentum coming down the stretch.”

“It’s always easy to say that (getting complacent). We’ve got to play every possession. That’s what playoff basketball is about, and we’re trying to build on that. If we want to be a great team, not a good team, we have to be greedy. We have to push 10-point leads to 20, and 20-point leads to 30.”

On Tyreke Evans
“I don’t know how many shots Tyreke (Evans) hit from the outside, I don’t have the stats on that, but I know he had a lot of lay-ups. We have to make the adjustment, that’s on all of us.”
