Postgame report: From the Heat locker room

Heat Coach Erik Spoelstra on Greg Oden:

"We are just so pleased for him. His face lit up when I told him that I was going to put him in the game. He was prepared for it. He has been making steady process. It was just great to see him do something that he loves to do. It was taken away from him for four years."

• On the play of the Pelicans: "You have to give that team credit. That team is much improved. They are well coached. They have very good young talent. ... They had us on our heels."

LeBron James on the difference between the two halves: "They just made a lot of shots. We didn't get off to a slow start. We were scoring the ball and we shot the ball extremely well, we just weren't getting any stops. We bolted down defensively in the second half and that allowed us to get the lead."

James on Oden's debut: "It was a very special moment. I have no idea what my feelings would be like being away from the game for three years, and it was a proud moment. I was so excited for him when he got on the court and checked in. His first basket is a dunk; can you write it any better?"
