Postgame report: From the Pacers locker room
Pacers Head Coach Frank Vogel
"I’m really happy for Indy sports fans, a clean sweep tonight (Pacers & Colts). They came out and played a great first quarter and we buckled down the rest of the way. The bench was great. We wanted to mix up the matchup on (Eric) Gordon, give him a different look. We adjusted our offensive package a little bit to get more efficiency. What we showed in the third quarter (offensively) is who we are: we’re a high-powered offense with some shot-makers."
On Danny Granger
"He gets a bad rap for not being a good defensive player. He’s a great small forward defender. When he’s engaged, he’s as good as it gets."
Pacers Guard Lance Stephenson
“Came out a little flat in the beginning but they played really well in that stretch. We didn’t box out, didn’t rebound well. We came in and looked at the film at halftime and found out that we needed to be a little more aware on defense and the people around us. After that we got stops when we needed to, played smart and hard on defense and got some good looks and our shots began to fall. We began to feel good about ourselves."
On his shooting
"I’m still not satisfied."
Pacers Forward David West
On the turnaround from being down early
"Defensively, we just came out a little more aggressively in the second half."
On the beginning of the game
"They played really well. That’s how they came out and beat Portland last week, they just came out and blitzed them early and got on top. Luckily we didn’t dig ourselves too deep of a hole."
How did they Pacers control the boards?
"I just thought we did a good job of getting the rebounds and everybody participated."
On bouncing back after the loss
"That’s what we talk about. We just try not to drop two games in a row. I thought our effort and sticking to the game plan throughout the game, particularly in the second half, worked for us."
Pacers Guard George Hill
On having a big deficit early and then coming back to take a big lead
On digging out of such holes
"It can hurt you in the long run. We have to continue to figure out how we can get off to better starts. At the same time it shows we can play when our back is to the wall."
