DETROIT - The New Orleans Pelicans are getting one player back in the mix who was recently sidelined due to illness, but they’re simultaneously losing another to the same malady Friday against the Detroit Pistons. Pelicans shooting guard Anthony Morrow missed the Monday and Tuesday games vs. Memphis and Sacramento due to being sick, but participated in shootaround this morning and is available to play tonight vs. Detroit. Meanwhile, swingman Tyreke Evans will not play Friday due to illness. Evans has missed five previous games this season, but those absences were due to a left ankle sprain that was initially injured in an Oct. 5 preseason game.
As a result of exchanging Morrow for Evans in uniform, New Orleans (16-25) will again only have 10 players available vs. Detroit (17-25). In other lineup news, Pelicans fourth-year Monty Williams said Alexis Ajinca is moving back into the starting five at center, replacing Greg Stiemsma.
