Amid an incredible string of injury misfortune for the New Orleans Pelicans, reserve catalyst Tyreke Evans (ankle) is now a game-time decision for Saturday’s game at Dallas. The potential Evans injury absence comes eight days after Ryan Anderson sustained a herniated disc that will keep him out indefinitely; and a day after the Pelicans announced that Jrue Holiday (stress fracture right tibia) is also out indefinitely. The players are all among the team’s top five leading scorers this season.

“If he can’t go, it’s next man up,” Pelicans Coach Monty Williams said of Evans. “That’s the way it’s always been here. We’ve got to persevere.”

Evans sat out the entire second half of Friday’s 107-90 loss due to the injury. With Evans sidelined, Darius Miller logged 19 minutes, his third-highest total of 2013-14.
