Shootaround: vs. Thunder

Updates from Saturday morning’s shootaround in the New Orleans Arena:

• Hornets backup point guard Brian Roberts is officially listed as a game-time decision due to an illness. If Roberts is unable to play, head coach Monty Williams indicated it would likely mean more time at the position for Austin Rivers. Roberts and Greivis Vasquez are the only players on the New Orleans roster who are most comfortable at the point guard position, as opposed to shooting guard.

• Nothing new to report on the status of Anthony Davis (ankle) or Eric Gordon (knee), who remain sidelined. If Roberts doesn’t play Saturday, it means Williams will have just 10 players available vs. Oklahoma City (13-4).

• The starting lineup since Davis’ recent injury has been Vasquez, Roger Mason, Al-Farouq Aminu, Ryan Anderson and Robin Lopez. If Roberts is out, the bench quintet will consist tonight of Rivers, Xavier Henry, Darius Miller, Lance Thomas and Jason Smith.

• Williams on again being shorthanded: “That’s why (it’s important to) work so hard to get guys ready in (player development). We’ll just roll with who we have. You’ve got to believe you can win. It doesn’t matter who’s in the game. You go out there and compete, and let the chips fall.”
