July NBA basketball isn’t known for its intensity, but with the Golden State Warriors bidding for an unbeaten week Saturday, it wasn’t your typically laidback summer affair in the Thomas and Mack Center. The Warriors built a 15-point lead and appeared on their way to a relatively easy cap to a perfect five-game slate, but the Hornets made sure it wouldn’t be an easy victory.Golden State held off New Orleans numerous times in the fourth quarter, eventually completing a 5-0 mark in Nevada. The team was to depart Las Vegas on Sunday, the end of its summer league stint. Sunday marks the beginning of what's generally a lull of the NBA offseason, though the Hornets still must make several moves in order to stock their roster entering training camp in October. Next up in terms of noteworthy events will be the release of the 2012-13 NBA regular season schedule. There has been no date officially announced for when it will be publicized, but it will likely be within the next couple weeks.
