Five things to know on Day 8 in Las Vegas

NBA Summer League1) New Orleans dropped to 1-1 in NBA Summer League with a 69-61 loss to Milwaukee on Sunday. You can watch the rebroadcast of the game – featuring our own Joel Meyers on the call – at 11 a.m. Central today on NBA TV. Pelicans GM Dell Demps also did a live interview during the game with NBA TV’s Jared Greenberg.

2) The Pelicans wrap up the three-game “pool play” stage of summer league by facing the Cleveland Cavaliers at 5 p.m. Central (3 p.m. Pacific) today. Cleveland’s roster is headlined by 2012 first-round picks Dion Waiters and Tyler Zeller. If the Pelicans win Monday, they’ll likely get a tournament first-round bye and would not play again until Thursday. If they lose, they almost certainly will play Wednesday as a bottom-12 seed. Tuesday is a scheduled practice day.

3) Anthony Davis sat down with Rob Nice in Las Vegas for this entertaining video, in which Davis explains how the fictional “Anthony Davis Basketball Camp” helped Austin Rivers hone his game this summer.

4) Watch Pierre Jackson as he reviews his first Pelicans game action with Nice, including mentioning that he has relatives in Louisiana. Jackson had a host of friends and family watching in Las Vegas yesterday.

5) Following his 20-point game vs. Milwaukee, Brian Roberts discussed his approach this summer as he prepares for 2013-14.
