NBA Summer League1) After sorting through a complicated combination of tiebreakers and scenarios, the Pelicans learned late Tuesday night that they’ll open the tournament portion of NBA Summer League today vs. Denver (5 p.m. Central time on NBA TV). New Orleans is the No. 11 seed and the only team with a 2-1 record in pool play to not receive a first-round bye. The Pelicans managed to finish seventh in a seven-way tie, pushing them down to 11th overall. The Nuggets are the 22nd and last-seeded team in the tournament, after going 0-3 and losing by an average of 18.0 points. If the Pelicans win Wednesday vs. the Nuggets, they will play Thursday at 5 p.m. Central against sixth-seeded Toronto on NBA TV. A loss Wednesday would push the Pelicans into the loser’s bracket and mean their game schedule in Las Vegas would conclude Friday with a 3 p.m. Central consolation tilt on NBA TV.
