Five things to know on Day 1 in Las Vegas

1) Today marks the initial day of what will be a lengthy stretch filled with summer league practices and games, team-related news and a Pelicans-heavy USA Basketball minicamp that takes place July 22-25. We’ll be reporting from Nevada on a daily basis for the next three weeks, starting with this evening’s opening practice (5-7 p.m. Pacific time).

2) The Pelicans released an updated summer league roster Friday. A few big men were added to better balance out the mix of guards and frontcourt players.

3) New Orleans’ summer league roster is still not finalized.

4) The team’s first and third summer league games, vs. New York and Cleveland, respectively, will be broadcast live by NBA TV on Friday and next Monday, July 15. The second game, Sunday vs. Milwaukee, is available live via the NBA Summer League Live subscription you can order for $14.99. The package covers all 86 summer league games in Orlando and Las Vegas.

5) You should recognize at least one voice on NBA TV’s coverage. Pelicans TV play-by-play broadcaster Joel Meyers will be calling games on the national network beginning Friday in Las Vegas.
