Five things to know about the Pelicans on Oct. 28


1) In case you missed it, New Orleans wrapped up preseason with a 7-1 record by defeating Orlando 101-82 on Friday. The Pelicans’ first string was dominant against the Magic, twice building commanding leads.

2) On Saturday, the Pelicans held an open practice for fans, highlighted by an intrasquad scrimmage and fan interaction with players. Lance Thomas led both teams with 18 points.

3) Don’t miss tonight’s 2013-14 season-launching Pelicans Pep Rally, on Fulton Street in downtown New Orleans from 5:30 to 7:30. There will be appearances by several Pelicans players.

4) New Orleans officially begins its new era as a franchise Wednesday on Opening Night vs. the Indiana Pacers at 7 p.m. Tickets for the historic first Pelicans game can be purchased here.

5) Log in Tuesday to for a special Pelicans 2013-14 season preview edition of the Black & Blue Report. The show will have an expanded format Tuesday and Wednesday to cover numerous topics prior to Wednesday’s game vs. Indiana.
