Five things to know about the Pelicans on Oct. 24

1) After a previously unbeaten preseason, the Pelicans’ six-game winning streak came to an end Wednesday against the two-time NBA champion Miami Heat. 3) New Orleans (6-1 in preseason) will practice this morning before catching a flight to Orlando this afternoon. The Pelicans and Magic close out the 2013 preseason slate Friday with a 6 p.m. Central game (7 p.m. Eastern) at the Amway Center in Orlando.
4) Pelicans TV analyst David Wesley stopped by the Black & Blue Report on “his day,” otherwise known as Wesley Wednesday.
5) Get ready for the 2013-14 regular season this weekend by attending Saturday’s open practice for fans. It’s free and open to the public, with doors opening at 10:30 a.m. The practice will take place from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. On Monday, fans can attend the Pelicans Pep Rally presented by Manning’s from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. The event will take place on Fulton Street in downtown New Orleans.
