Five things to know about the Pelicans on Oct. 21


1) In case you missed it, New Orleans improved to 6-0 in preseason with Saturday’s 93-89 victory over Washington. Anthony Davis rejected Bradley Beal’s layup attempt in the final minute, the key play of the win. The Pelicans and Bulls (5-0) are the NBA’s only unbeaten teams in preseason. Chicago hosts Milwaukee tonight at 7 p.m. Central.

2) Next up for the Pelicans is Wednesday’s preseason game vs. the Miami Heat, in the re-opening of the New Orleans Arena. Tickets can be purchased here.

3) Speaking of the New Orleans Arena, local media members will be touring the facility this afternoon. We’ll have full coverage on of the first look at the revamped venue. The arena also will host Saturday’s Pelicans open scrimmage from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.

4) The team will hold its annual season-launching pep rally next Monday evening, Oct. 28, in downtown New Orleans. More details to come as this week progresses.

5) Pelicans shooting guard Eric Gordon will be among the guests on today’s Black & Blue Report show. Gordon is off to an excellent start in his return to the court, averaging 18.5 points in 22.5 minutes over two games.
