Five things to know about the Pelicans on Dec. 9

1) Sunday was an off day for the team, allowing players some much-needed rest after what’s been a hectic stretch of basketball over the past week-plus.

2) In case you missed it, the Pelicans dropped to 9-10 overall with a 109-95 defeat to Oklahoma City on Friday.

3) New Orleans is tied for 11th place in a jam-packed Western Conference, just two games behind eighth-place Golden State (12-9). The Pelicans are also only two games back in the loss column of the conference’s fifth-best record.

4) Pelicans reserve swingman Tyreke Evans left Friday’s game with a left ankle sprain. We’re expecting an update on Evans’ status today.

5) Other than the All-Star break, the Pelicans are in their longest hiatus between games of the 2013-14 season. They won’t play again until Wednesday, when they host the Detroit Pistons. Tickets are available here.
