Five things to know about the Pelicans on Dec. 15

1) New Orleans (11-10) visits Denver (13-9) at 7 p.m. Central tonight, the first matchup of 2013-14 between the Western Conference clubs.
2) Sunday’s game launches a five-game road trip for the Pelicans, who will travel over 5,000 miles on the excursion and face four straight formidable opponents.
3) The Pelicans are on a two-game winning streak after defeating Memphis by a 104-98 tally on Friday. Two days earlier, New Orleans outlasted Detroit 111-106 in overtime.
4) The Nuggets come to New Orleans on Dec. 27, the next home game for the Pelicans after this extended stretch of road games.
5) Prior to the road trip, Monty Williams hosted a dinner at the New Orleans MissionIVE T on Thursday.
