The New Orleans Pelicans are off to a perfect start in preseason, with a 4-0 record that makes them one of just three unbeaten NBA teams. They’re also getting closer to being at full strength health-wise. New Orleans shooting guard Eric Gordon will make his preseason debut tonight vs. Oklahoma City (7 p.m. Central), joining Jrue Holiday for the first time in the team’s projected starting backcourt.
“It’s definitely exciting,” Gordon said of playing Thursday. “I definitely want to get some games under my belt before the season starts, and be able to acclimate with the team.”
The 6-foot-4, 215-pounder is eager to join his teammates on the court after having to watch the first four exhibition games. He’ll be playing in his first NBA game since scoring 16 points in last season’s April 17 finale at Dallas.
“I feel good. I think this is the next step to really getting a rhythm back and getting into game shape,” he said. “Everybody’s been playing well. I definitely want to get back into the groove.”
