Anthony Davis in seventh place in West frontcourt votes
In the latest update of fan voting for the 2014 All-Star Game revealed Thursday, New Orleans Pelicans forward Anthony Davis ranks seventh in the Western Conference front court with 223,956 votes.
This is the final public update of the voting. The starters will be named Jan. 20 and the reserves will be announced Jan. 30 for the Feb. 16 game to be played at New Orleans Arena.
None of the other four Pelicans players on the ballot - Ryan Anderson, Tyreke Evans, Eric Gordon and Jrue Holiday - were among the players listed amont the top 15 front-court vote-getters and top 10 backcourt vote-getters.
The top three front-court finishers will be named All-Star Game starters, along with two backcourt players. At the moment, the West starting five would consist of Kevin Durant (Thunder), Dwight Howard (Rockets), Blake Griffin (Clippers), Kobe Bryant (Lakers) and Stephen Curry (Warriors).
The East starting five, as of voting totals released Thursday, would be LeBron James (Heat), Paul George (Pacers), Carmelo Anthony (Knicks), Dwyane Wade (Heat), Kyrie Irving (Cavaliers).
There is a fairly large gap between Davis and sixth place in the front-court voting (Tim Duncan, 385,342 votes). Griffin has 500,964 votes, Kevin Love has 483,031 votes and fifth-place LaMarcus Aldridge has 404,793 votes.
