Anthony Davis listed as day-to-day (3/31/14)

New Orleans All-Star power forward Anthony Davis is being listed as day-to-day this morning by the team, as the Pelicans prepare for Monday’s home game against the Sacramento Kings. Davis’ injury is a left ankle sprain. His playing status will likely be updated by Pelicans Coach Monty Williams during Williams’ pregame media availability at 5:15 p.m.

Other news from Monday’s Pelicans shootaround in Smoothie King Center:

· Eric Gordon also is listed as day-to-day, with left knee tendinitis. The Pelicans’ Ryan Anderson, Jrue Holiday and Jason Smith are all out for the season, meaning New Orleans will never have more than 12 players available any game for the rest of 2013-14.

· Despite a plan of being on a minute restriction after missing the previous two games, Brian Roberts logged 29 minutes Saturday and tallied a team-high 18 points at San Antonio. The point guard said he felt better than expected during his pregame warmup. “After pregame, I felt pretty good,” Roberts said. “I told (Williams) I’d be ready. It worked out. A lot of it is mental when you go through something like that. You want to make sure you don’t play tentatively. That was the main thing, to make sure I was ready to play.”

· Roberts on some of the keys against Sacramento: “Being aggressive. Last time we played them, they brought a lot of energy off the bench. That helped us. Staying active, limiting them to one shot and not fouling – they shot a lot of free throws the last time we played them.” Sacramento was 31-for-41 from the line in its 96-89 win over New Orleans on March 3.
