Game Rewind: Pacers 123, Wizards 106

Game Recap

Behind a franchise-record 19 3-pointers and season scoring highs of 40 from Paul George and 32 from C.J. Miles, the Indiana Pacers defeated the Washington Wizards 123-106 in the Verizon Center.

The barrage of threes started early, as Indiana made seven in the first quarter. The Pacers knocked down their first nine shots of the game and finished the quarter 13-of-19 from the floor. But six turnovers allowed Washington to stay close, and Indiana only led 33-31 at the end of the first.

The second period brought more of the same offensively for both teams. The red-hot shooting was highlighted by C.J. Miles' 10 quarter points and 13 from Washington's Gary Neal. At the end of the half, Indiana was up to 12 made 3-pointers but was ahead just 62-61.

In the third, Indiana's shooting became too much for their opponent. Miles continued to hit nothing but net, and Indiana opened up a seven-point advantage midway through the period thanks to his 30-foot three with the shot clock expiring. The Blue & Gold scored 31 in the quarter and led 93-82 heading into the fourth.

Indiana kept the pressure on in the final period. The record-breaking three came from George Hill with 4:20 left, and it gave the Pacers a commanding 15-point lead. Washington wouldn't threaten the rest of the contest.

Paul George and Miles were a sharpshooting combo Washington couldn't contain. They accounted for 72 points, shooting 24-of-35 from the floor. The pair converted 15-of-17 3-point attempts.

Gary Neal led Washington with 23 points off the bench. Bradley Beal scored 20 and John Wall had 18 but also committed eight turnovers.
