Sept. 12, 2012 - With Opening Night just over 50 days away, the Indiana Pacers are reaching back to last year’s exciting playoff run to channel energy and enthusiasm for the upcoming 2012-13 season. During the 2012 Playoffs, Pacers fans first introduced “Gold Swagger” to the basketball world and have continued to use it throughout the offseason. This organic acceptance and appreciation for the phrase make it a natural to continue.
The Pacers have announced “Blue Collar - Gold Swagger” as the theme for the 2012-13 season. Pacers fans can expect to see it in a new advertising campaign throughout central Indiana. The campaign will feature various components including billboards, newspaper ads, commercials, web banners, and social media activation. Starting now, fans can download the billboards as wallpapers to their computers by clicking here.
Though the “Blue Collar - Gold Swagger” campaign debuted this week, it will make its official premiere on Saturday, Nov. 3, when the Pacers host the Sacramento Kings in an Opening Night extravaganza in Bankers Life Fieldhouse. This year’s Opening Night is proudly presented by Indiana University Health and Kroger.
Since moving to the Fieldhouse, the Pacers have sold out every Opening Night and this year’s Opening Night promises to be something special. First, the highly-demanded “Gold Out” will return, but this year it has a twist. Not only will every Pacers fan in Bankers Life Fieldhouse receive a commemorative “Blue Collar - Gold Swagger” gold T-shirt, but every member of the Pacers team will suit up in gold uniforms. Secondly, the NBA’s best scoreboard makes its Pacers’ debut. Bankers Life Fieldhouse will have a state-of-the-art, center-hung scoreboard that will be nearly five times the size of its predecessor. Finally, and most importantly, all five starters from the 2012 Playoffs return along with some new faces, including D.J. Augustin, Gerald Green, Ian Mahinmi, and first-round pick Miles Plumlee.
There are four ways to secure your seats for Opening Night, including Season Ticket Plans, 6-Game Pack, Group Tickets, and Single-Game Tickets. Click here for complete details or call (317) 917-2827.
