World Ending? Pacers Think Not!

Official Release

December 20, 2012

INDIANAPOLIS – A variety of sources point to December 21, 2012 as a significant date in the history of humanity – and not just because the Indiana Pacers travel to Cleveland for a game against the Cavs. The ancient Mayans predicted the world would end on that date as their calendar, The Long Count, concludes after 5,125 years of existence. If the reports are true, then the world will end at 6:15 a.m. Eastern Time.

The Pacers believe in the power of positive thinking and are preparing to continue the season as planned. The team will travel as scheduled to Cleveland for Friday’s game. Pacers fans looking for last-minute Christmas gifts will get to celebrate "Super Saturday" early with a special ticket promotion available for a limited time.

For only 48 hours or until tickets allocated to this promotion are exhausted, Pacers fans will have the opportunity to purchase select Lower Level tickets for $49, Krieg DeVault Club Level tickets for $39, or Balcony Level tickets for $10 for any of the last two home games of the 2012 Gregorian calendar. This offer is available for the Pacers game against Phoenix on Friday, Dec. 28, at 7:00 p.m. and the New Year’s Eve game against Memphis on Monday, Dec. 31, at 3:00 p.m.

Assuming everything goes well, the Pacers Super Saturday – Mayan Edition - offer will go on sale at noon ET on Friday, Dec. 21, at Pacers.com/Mayan. Pacers fans won’t have to wait for the tickets to arrive in the mail by selecting TicketFast while purchasing online. This ticket delivery option is free and will allow fans to print the tickets at home or work and bypass the Will Call lines.

The Pacers Super Saturday – Mayan Edition offer is limited and subject to availability. A 6% Marion County Admissions tax will be added at the point of purchase. The offer ends at noon on Sunday, so visit Pacers.com/Mayan now.
