USA Basketball Statement on Paul George Injury

LAS VEGAS (August 2, 2014) - USA Basketball National Team member Paul George (Indiana Pacers) suffered a right leg, open tibia-fibula fracture during Friday's USA Basketball Showcase in Las Vegas. George was immediately transferred to Sunrise Hospital (Las Vegas, Nev.) where he underwent successful surgery to fix the fracture. Dr. David Silverberg, Dr. Joseph Yu and USA Basketball team physician Riley Williams (Brooklyn Nets, Hospital for Special Surgery), were present for the surgery. Paul is resting comfortably and is expected to remain hospitalized for approximately three days.
George injured his right leg with 9:33 remaining in the fourth quarter of the 2014 USA Basketball Showcase at the Thomas & Mack Center in Las Vegas.
