Pacers TV schedule includes games in Asia

The Indiana Pacers announced Wednesday their 2009-10 FOX Sports Indiana television schedule, highlighted by the Pacers’ two preseason games in Asia. This is just the team’s second trip overseas and its first ever to Asia.

The Pacers will meet the Denver Nuggets, Wednesday, Oct. 8, in the first-ever NBA game in Taiwan. The telecast from Taipei Arena will be on FOX Sports Indiana at 7:30 a.m., Indianapolis time. The game will be re-broadcast that same day at 7:00 p.m. The Pacers then travel to Beijing, China, where they will meet the Nuggets at the Wukesong Culture & Sports Center, Sunday, Oct. 11. Game time will be 12:00 a.m. (Indianapolis time’ Saturday night/Sunday morning). It will also be re-broadcast later Sunday at 7:00 p.m.

Chris Denari will handle the play-by-play from Asia and will be joined at various times through the games with guest analysts, including Pacers President of Basketball Operations Larry Bird.

“By having these two games in Asia televised by FOX Sports Indiana, it gives our fans a chance to share with the Pacers a very unique experience,” said Pacers Sports & Entertainment President Jim Morris. “The atmosphere in both cities will be very special. It also provides our fans a look at a Pacers team that will be competitive, entertaining and fun to watch.”

The 72-game FOX Sports Indiana regular season schedule tips off with the season opener at Atlanta, Wednesday, Oct. 28, at 7:00 p.m. The home opener with Miami, Friday, Oct. 30, at 8:00 p.m., will be the first of 15 games telecast in high definition. The other HD games will be Nov. 20 vs. Cleveland; Nov. 27 vs. Dallas; Dec. 14 at Orlando; Jan. 20 at Orlando; Jan. 27 vs. the Los Angeles Lakers; Jan. 29 vs. Cleveland; Feb. 22 at Dallas; Mar. 2 at the LA Lakers; Mar. 5 at Denver; Mar. 6 at Phoenix; Mar. 17 at Cleveland; Mar. 19 vs. Detroit; Apr. 9 at Cleveland and the regular season finale at Washington, Apr. 14.

For the 15 HD telecasts, the HD feed will appear on a separate channel from the standard-definition FOX Sports Indiana telecast. FOX Sports Indiana’s HD telecasts will be available via many cable and satellite providers in Indiana. Viewers can contact their cable or satellite provider to find out if FOX Sports Indiana’s HD telecasts are available in their area. Providers that will offer FOX Sports Indiana’s HD Pacers telecasts include: AT&T U-verse (channel 1749), Comcast (channel 201), DirecTV (channel 673-1), Dish Network (channel number will vary), Insight (channel 929), and Verizon Fios TV (channel 577). An updated list of providers that carry Fox Sports Indiana HD games will be posted at FOXSports.com/Indiana.

Denari will be on the call for the regular season FOX Sports Indiana games. He will be joined by analysts Clark Kellogg and Quinn Buckner. Stacy Paetz will be the sideline reporter, as well as hosting the pregame and postgame shows.
