Pacers’ Home Opener Set for Nov. 5

The Indiana Pacers announced Monday their 2005-06 National Basketball Association schedule, highlighted by the Nov. 5 home opener against the Philadelphia 76ers and the traditional Thanksgiving night game, Nov. 24 vs. Cleveland and LeBron James. The game against the Cavaliers will be one of the Pacers’ 26 nationally-televised appearances on ABC, TNT, ESPN, ESPN2 and NBATV.

The Pacers will open on the road Nov. 2 at Orlando and Nov. 3 at Miami, televised by TNT, before returning home to host the 76ers, Saturday, Nov. 5, at 8:00 p.m. at Conseco Fieldhouse.

Other highlights on the home portion of the schedule include another visit from James and the Cavaliers (Fri., Jan. 27); two home dates (Sat., Feb. 4 and Fri., Mar. 24) with Detroit, the Pacers’ opponent from the 2004 Eastern Conference Semifinals; Kobe Bryant and the Los Angeles Lakers with one visit (Wed., Feb. 1); Tim Duncan and the World Champion San Antonio Spurs (Sun., Feb. 12); Brad Miller and the Sacramento Kings (Fri, Mar. 17); Shaquille O’Neal, Dwyane Wade and the Miami Heat (Wed., Nov. 9).

The Pacers will have five appearances on ABC (vs. San Antonio, Sun., Feb 12; at Philadelphia, Sun., Mar. 5; vs. Boston, Sun., Mar. 19; vs. Philadelphia, Sun., Mar. 26; and at Detroit, Sun., Apr. 9); six on TNT (at Miami, Thu., Nov. 3; Thanksgiving night against the Cavaliers; Thu., Dec. 8 vs. Washington; Thu., Jan. 5 at Golden State; at Detroit, Thu., Feb. 23; and vs. Phoenix, Thu., Mar. 30 ); and seven showings on ESPN or ESPN2, the first of which will be Wed., Nov. 9 vs. Miami; and eight games being aired on NBATV, the first vs. Philadelphia, Sat., Nov. 5.

Again this season, all games will be carried on WIBC AM-1070. The Pacers’ television schedule on WB4 and FSN Midwest will be announced at a later date.

The Pacers have multiple ticket packages available, including two half season ticket packages and four mini-plans. The mini-plans consist of 11 games each and all include the home opener vs. Philadelphia, Sat., Nov. 5.
