Playoff Rallies slated for April 26/27

INDIANAPOLIS (April 25, 2012) - The Indiana Pacers have announced a weekend full of activities for Pacers fans as the franchise prepares for the opening of the 2012 NBA Playoffs this Saturday or Sunday in Indianapolis. Among the highlights are star-studded pep rallys set for Thursday and Friday of this week. The Pacers playoffs are sponsored by KeyBank, Kroger and Stanley Security Solutions.

The festivities begin with a “tip off” Playoff Rally at City Market, downtown Indianapolis on Thursday, Apr. 26 from 11:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. In addition to team mascot Boomer and the Pacemates, on hand will be Pacers legends Don Buse, Rik Smits and George McGinnis. Cheer cards will be distributed and the Pacers Fan Van and Prize Wheel will be on site for the enjoyment of all fans.

On Friday, Apr. 27, the scene will shift to the Simon Malls Circle Centre Mall Food Court for a very special “Pacers Blue & Gold” Pep Rally from 11:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. Among the dignitaries on hand will be Indianapolis Mayor Greg Ballard and Pacers President Jim Morris as Mayor Ballard declares it “Blue & Gold” weekend. In addition to Buse and McGinnis, Pacers TV personalities from Fox Sports Indiana – Chris Denari, Quinn Buckner and Brooke Olzendam – will be on hand to greet fans. Pacers radio voice Mark Boyle will also be in attendance along with the Lonnie Lester Band, which will entertain fans.

The festivities continue over the weekend as the NBA Playoffs begin with the Pacers opening up at home at Bankers Life Fieldhouse. The Pacers Fan Van will make appearances on Saturday in Lebanon from 10:00 a.m. - noon and in Indianapolis from 2:00 - 4:00 p.m. at Orchard in Bloom. Another Playoff Rally will be set for next week at the Kroger on Binford Blvd. Details to follow.
