Pacers Youth Basketball assist Douglass Park Family Center
The Indy Parks Citywide Youth Basketball program got an assist on Monday, Feb. 1, and helping deliver the assist at the Douglass Park Family Center was Indiana Pacers point guard Earl Watson. Watson, along with Indianapolis Mayor Greg Ballard, helped present 190 youth basketball participants with new league jerseys featuring the Pacers and Indiana Fever logos.
The jerseys, courtesy of Pacers Youth Basketball, benefit the program’s three age groups representing 10 local family centers at Douglass, Brookside, Riverside, Windsor Village, Rhodius, Krannert, Watkins, Municipal Gardens, Washington and Bethel Parks. A total of 18 youth teams received jerseys for the Indy Parks program that is offered at no cost to its participants.
Watson, Pacers Youth Basketball leader, and Pacers Sports & Entertainment Vice President Quinn Buckner, along with Boomer helped make the presentation as a display of the existing partnership between the Pacers Youth Basketball and Indy Parks. Receiving the jerseys on behalf of the Indy Parks programs were Indy Parks Director Stuart Lowry and numerous coaches and youth participants.
