The Indiana Pacers have teamed up with the National Basketball Academy to produce Pacers Youth Hoops Basketball Camps, a summer-filled series of instructional camps for young male and female players throughout Central Indiana.
The six different sessions – five of them a week long – will be held from June through August and are geared for young players 7-16 years old. Each player will be grouped by age, skill and gender when possible.
The camp, which will feature all-time Pacers great Darnell Hillman, will include daily skill competitions, 3-on-3 and 5-on-5 games and more. Each camper will also receive a ticket to a 2011-12 Pacers home game, a skills packet, a Pacers tee-shirt and their very own basketball.
“We are all proud of basketball in this state,” said Hillman, now the Associate Director of Alumni Relations for the Pacers. “We are excited to have the opportunity to bring our instruction and the knowledge of the National Basketball Academy to the young players of Indiana.”
