Pacers and Fever Assist Elephant Show During Awareness Week

On Monday, June 13, Fever guard Erin Phillips joined Pacers star Lance Stephenson at the Indianapolis Zoo to support Elephant Awareness Week. Zookeepers brought Sophie, a 44-year-old female Indian elephant to entertain the crowd while Phillips and Stephenson assisted with the show. The 10,000-pound mammal amused the audience through a variety of balancing acts and tricks.

After Sophie was introduced, Phillips and Stephenson were on hand to display elephant tusks and molars. Also, a dozen kids were picked out of the crowd by Phillips and Stephenson to participate in a tug-of-war competition with the elephant. Although the match was close, the kids walked away with the victory thanks to the help of the competitive basketball stars. After the Elephant Show, Phillips signed autographs and took photos with fans.
