INDIANAPOLIS – The Indiana Pacers Media Relations Department was recognized by the Pro Basketball Writers Association as the first two-time winner of the Brian McIntyre Award, presented to an NBA Public Relations staff that exemplifies the standards of professionalism and excellence worthy of the acclaim.

The award is named in honor of the longtime NBA PR chief Brian McIntyre. This year’s award marks the second time in three years that the Pacers staff has been cited.

“We take great pride in every facet of our organization,” said Pacers Sports & Entertainment President Jim Morris. “And we certainly value our relationship with the media. The work that our media relations staff does 365 days a year is remarkable. We are very proud of them.”

Life-long Hoosier David Benner heads up the veteran staff for the Pacers. The Center Grove High School and Indiana University product is in his 19th year as Director of Media Relations for the Pacers. Before coming to the team he was a sports writer for the Indianapolis Star. Krissy Myers, a graduate of Speedway High School and IUPUI, is in her 12th year as Senior Public Information Manager. Myers began her tenure with the team as an intern.
