NBA releases season schedule – Two games to appear on TNT, five on ESPN, and four on NBA TV

INDIANAPOLIS – The Indiana Pacers, coming off their most successful season in seven years, will open the home portion of the 2012-13 National Basketball Association schedule against the Sacramento Kings in Bankers Life Fieldhouse, Saturday, Nov. 3, at 7:00 p.m.

The Pacers, who compiled a 42-24 record last season (No. 3 seed in the East, fifth-best record in the NBA) will begin the season, Wednesday, Oct. 31, when they visit Toronto and then travel to Charlotte, Friday, Nov. 2. They will have 12 of their first 18 games on the road, but make that up with nine of 11 in Bankers Life Fieldhouse in February. The Pacers will also appear on TNT twice this season, ESPN five times and NBATV four times.

Home highlights include two visits from defending NBA champion Miami, Tuesday, Jan. 8 and Friday, Feb. 1. The Heat defeated the Pacers in a spirited second-round playoff series last May. Western Conference champion Oklahoma City, with Kevin Durrant and Russell Westbrook, makes its only appearance Friday, Apr. 5. The Pacers’ traditional day after Thanksgiving game will be against San Antonio and Tim Duncan, Friday, Nov. 23, and the Pacers will also have a special 3:00 p.m. New Year’s Eve game when Memphis makes its only trip to Indianapolis.

Other key home games include: New Orleans, with No. 1 draft pick Anthony Davis out of Kentucky and Indianapolis native Eric Gordon, Wednesday, Nov. 21; the Houston Rockets with Jeremy Lin, Friday, Jan. 18; former Pacers Darren Collison and Dahntay Jones visit with Dallas, Friday, Nov. 16; Brooklyn, with Deron Williams and Joe Johnson, visits twice, Monday, Feb. 11 and Friday, April 12; the Los Angeles Lakers, with newly-acquired Steve Nash joining Kobe Bryant, Friday, Mar. 15; and Central Division rival Chicago will visit twice, Wednesday, Dec. 26, and Sunday, Mar. 3.

All Pacers’ home games will begin at 7:00 p.m. except for San Antonio, Nov. 23 (8:00 p.m.); Memphis, Dec. 31 (3:00 p.m.); New York, Jan. 10 (8:00 p.m.); Chicago, Mar. 3 (8:00 p.m.), Oklahoma City, Apr. 5 (8:00 p.m.) and Philadelphia (8:00 p.m.).

The Pacers will be on TNT for the first time in five years with two games, Jan. 10 when New York visits, and Apr. 16 when they play at Boston. The five ESPN games are Jan. 4 when the Pacers visit Boston; Jan. 21 when the Pacers travel to Memphis for a 1:00 p.m. Martin Luther King Day game; Feb. 1, against Miami; Mar. 3 against Chicago and Apr. 5 against Oklahoma City, all in Bankers Life Fieldhouse.

All games will be on 1070 The Fan (1070-AM). FOX Sports Indiana’s TV schedule will be announced at a later date.
