Oliver Miller's quest to return to the NBA after a two-year absence ended Monday when the Pacers waived the veteran center in setting their opening-night roster.
Miller, a 6-9 center who has battled weight problems throughout his career, averaged 2.1 points, 2.1 rebounds and 9.9 minutes in seven preseason appearances. In the last three games, he played a total of four minutes.
The team also placed Austin Croshere and Reggie Miller on the injured list. Croshere is rehabilitating from off-season foot surgery, while Reggie Miller is recuperating from a bone bruise on his right ankle. No timetable has been established for the return of either player.
