Mel Daniels has fallen ill and, according to Pacers.com staff at the Hall of Fame ceremonies, will not be in attendance tomorrow night during the enshrinement ceremony. Pacers Director of Media Relations David Benner (@PacersDMB) tweeted that Mel is suffering from a Urinary Tract Infection. Mel's wife, CeCe told Benner that doctors won't allow travel, but that she expects him to be released from the hospital on Saturday.
The Hall of Fame has gone forward with a plan to record a video speech by Mel to accept his enshrinement.
Pacers.com caught up with Reggie Miller today and got his thoughts on his relationship with Mel and the effect of not having him at the ceremony.
Talked with Mel Daniels' wife, CeCe. She said he is doing well in hospital with urinary tract infection. Docs won't allow travel.
