SUMMARY: A prolific scorer, guard Jimmer Fredette is a tough, hard-nosed competitor who was ranked by ESPN.com among the nations top 75 high school shooting guards. Known for his shooting touch, Fredette set the league scoring record at Glens Falls High School (Glens Falls, N.Y.) with 2,404 career points. He was a significant contributor as a freshman, averaging 7.0 points off the bench. In 2008-09 he became BYUs first point guard to earn first-team all-conference honors since Marty Haws in 1990. Fredette averaged 16.2 points and 4.1 assists while contributing a team-best 50 steals. Fredette was inducted into the Capital District Basketball Hall of Fame in the summer of 2009. In 2009-10, Fredette's junior season, he raised his game to another level, averaging 22.1 points and 4.7 assists. Fredette was named to five All-America teams and led the Cougars to a program record 30 wins and the second round of the NCAA Tournament.
