March 11, 2014
New Castle – The Indiana Basketball Hall of Fame announces a partnership with the Indiana Pacers and Indiana Fever as sponsor of the Hall’s prestigious Silver Medal Award.
The Silver Medal, which includes induction into the Indiana Basketball Hall of Fame, is awarded for outstanding contributions to Indiana high school basketball in a capacity other than Indiana high school basketball player or coach.
“The Indiana Pacers and Indiana Fever are proud to lend their support to the Indiana Basketball Hall of Fame and its prestigious Silver Medal Award,” said Jim Morris, president of Pacers Sports and Entertainment. “The Silver Medal recognizes those individuals who have made extraordinary contributions to this game that is so much a part of the Hoosier fabric. In a like manner, the Indiana Pacers and Indiana Fever seek to represent Hoosiers at the highest level of basketball. To have our names associated with the Silver Medal is an honor.”
"On behalf of the Indiana Basketball Hall of Fame, we are extremely grateful to the Indiana Pacers and Indiana Fever for their sponsorship of the very prestigious Silver Medal Award and their continuous support of the Indiana Basketball Hall Of Fame," said Hall of Fame President Jim Callane.
Paul Patterson, retired after 34 years as head men’s coach of Taylor University, will receive the 2014 Indiana Pacers Silver Medal for his contributions in men’s basketball at the Hall’s 53rd Annual Men’s Awards Banquet on Wednesday, March 26.
