Overview: A fifth-year senior, Gilbert Brown is an athletically gifted and talented small forward who will be counted upon for a leadership role in his final season at Pitt. A smart player who is a student of the game, Brown has contributed athleticism, rebounding, relentless defense, solid shooting and streaky scoring. Brown has the ability to take over a game with his athleticism and offensive aggressiveness. He provides spectacular highlights when he takes it strong to the basket and elevates to the rim. In each of the last two seasons, Brown has served as Pitt's sixth man and provided a key scoring presence off the bench. He first emerged as a redshirt freshman when he stepped in to start 15 games following an injury to a starter. Referred to as the "most athletic perimeter player in America," coming out of prep school, Brown is a tremendous leaper who owns an impressive mid-range game. Brown is primed for a breakout season.
