INDIANAPOLIS – Indiana Pacers standout guard George Hill has partnered with Herff Jones, the Indiana High School Athletic Association (IHSAA) and the National Federation of State High School Associations (NFHS) to create a scholarship for an Indiana student. The winner will receive a $5,000 college scholarship, courtesy of Herff Jones, to the accredited school of their choice. For over 90 years, Herff Jones, founded in Indianapolis, has manufactured and distributed educational recognition and achievement products and motivational materials all over the world.

The goal of the program is to recognize and celebrate the Indiana high school students who are community leaders in the making through criteria that includes academic excellence, community service and essay. Applicants must meet the following to be considered: 10th-12th grade high school student in Marion, Boone, Hendricks, Morgan, Johnson, Shelby, Hancock, Madison or Hamilton counties; own a minimum GPA of 2.5; must have completed 20 hours of active community service within past year; be involved in extracurricular activities; and must submit a 250-word essay.

The top 10 finalists will receive four tickets to the Pacers/Bucks home game on Mar. 22 and be recognized during a special on-court presentation. In addition, each finalist will also be invited to a pregame meet & greet with George Hill, himself a product of an Indiana high school (Broad Ripple) and an Indiana college (IUPUI). The finalists will also receive a commemorative photo, a Pacers Goodie Bag and a plaque for their achievement.

Applications are now being accepted through Feb. 22, and can be found here on www.Pacers.com and at the Bankers Life Fieldhouse Guest Relations desk. Applications must be submitted on the official nomination form and be approved by a school administrator to be considered. Winners will be chosen by a selection committee.
