Scouting Report from NBADraft.net

College: Connecticut | Birthday: 1/15/88 | NBA Position: Power Forward | Class: Senior | Ht: 6-9 | Wt: 230

Strengths: Fundamentally sound player … Solid lateral speed for a four … Exceptional free throw shooter for a power forward … Great touch on mid-range jumpshot … Runs the floor well for a 6’9” power forward ... Solid feel for the game ... Has a great sense for weak-side help defense … Blocks shots well for a player with his physical abilities … Rarely gets himself into foul trouble ...
Weaknesses: Lack of physical strength and ability to bang inside is his biggest weakness ... The biggest knock on Edwards will be his lack of physicality in the aint ... Edwards does not possess the skill set to be a small forward, so improving on his low-post game will be a necessity. Not a great athlete ... Cannot finish very well after contact … Does not display much elevation in getting rebounds … Slow in releasing his jumpshot … Does not regularly exhibit full repertoire of low-post moves ... Not a shot blocker… Loses his man on the offensive glass more than he should … Does not create contact in the post with enough regularity.

Notes: Edwards is one of those players who should get a look from NBA teams even though he is likely to go undrafted ... With his above average ability to run the floor, shoot the mid-range jumpshot and consistently make free throws, Edwards has some potential for the next level, however his game appears to be better suited for Europe.
