KEY MOMENTS
With Granger coming out hot, scoring 10 in the opening minutes, the Pacers jumped out to an 18-11 lead as Portland seemed confused by the matchups caused by the small starting lineup. But the Blazers adjusted quickly and put together a 34-11 run to build a 45-29 lead midway through the second period. Granger hit another scoring burst, scoring nine in a row as the Pacers closed to 48-41 late in the half but much like the night before in Los Angeles, miscues led to a five-point finish for Portland and the Blazers took a 53-41 lead into the locker room. The Pacers trailed by double figures the rest of the way. Portland laid to rest any thoughts of a comeback with a 10-point run early in the fourth quarter that took an 83-66 lead and stretched it to 27 points.
BY THE NUMBERS
The lack of ball movement and offensive rhythm was evident in the numbers. The Pacers shot 43 percent and had more turnovers (18) than assists (15). They had just four assists against 13 turnovers in the first half. Granger's 30 points game on 12-of-22 shooting, The other four starters combined for 23 points on 9-of-29 shooting (31 percent) and there was no help from the bench. The Pacers were outrebounded for the ninth straight game (45-32) and were outscored 25-7 from the free-throw line.Portland didn't shoot particularly well (43 percent) but had nice offensive balance with Brandon Roy scoring 22, LaMarcus Aldridge 19 with seven rebounds, Rudy Fernandez 16 (making 5-of-10 from the 3-point line), Andre Miller 12 and Jerryd Bayless 10.
