  • Having outscored the Celtics, 33-24, at the foul line, the Pacers made more free throws than field goals tonight.
  • The Pacers jumped out to a 16-4 lead, having made 7-11 FGS in the first 3:36 of the game. From there, Indiana shot 19-55 (.345) the rest of the game.
  • Fred Jones led the Pacers' bench with four assists and he has had five assists and just one turnover in the preseason. In 2002-03, Jones never had more than one assist in any game.
  • Three Pacers led the team with eight rebounds apiece tonight. Jermaine O'Neal and Primoz Brezec have grabbed eight rebounds in each of the first two preseason games. Scot Pollard also had eight boards tonight.
  • For the second straight game, Jamaal Tinsley had three steals.
  • The Pacers outscored the Celtics, 23-16, on the fast break.
  • Boston outscored the Pacers, 40-26, in the paint, including a difference of 18-6 in the second half.
  • The Pacers outscored the Celtics, 31-20, in the first quarter, but were outscored by Boston in each of the ensuing quarters.
  • After going 2-7 from the foul line in the preseason opener, Jermaine O'Neal canned 8-10 FTS tonight.
  • Tying for the team-high, Boston's Paul Pierce scored 13 of his 15 points in the second half. Pierce shot 5-18 FGS for the game, including 1-11 in the fourth quarter and 4-16 in the second half. He shot 5-6 FTS in the final two periods.
  • Paul Pierce's six assists tonight are the most by any Celtics' player in the 2003 preseason.
