Ron Artest missed practice Monday night due to travel problems on his return to Indianapolis from Los Angeles, site of the 2004 NBA All-Star game, and will not start tonight's game against New Orleans.
Al Harrington, who missed the final two games prior to the All-Star break due to a bruised right knee, was expected to start in Artest's place at small forward.
"He'll be fined for a missed practice and he'll miss his start tonight, but he'll play," Coach Rick Carlisle. "This is consistent with our protocol when this situation occurs. It's a fine, a non-start and we just move on."
Artest wasn't the only All-Star to miss practice Monday. Allen Iverson was a no-show at practice in Philadelphia and Shaquille O'Neal called in sick with the Los Angeles Lakers.
